Beyoncé and Jay-Z are a Power Couple, and what do power couples do???? They raise four Million Dollars for Obama's re-elction campaign, at an exclusive fundraising event at Jay Z's 40/40 Club in NY. 

Guest shelled out $40,000 a pop to mingle with the President, along with the power couple Jay and B.

“I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama,” said Beyoncé, who wore a red cocktail dress “We believe in his vision.”

A grateful Obama thanked the Carters for their support. “To Jay and Bey, thank you so much for your friendship,” he said, while joking, “Michelle, Sasha and Malia are mad at me because they aren’t here.”

He praised the “Singles Ladies” singer for being a role model for his daughters. “Beyoncé couldn’t be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent,” said Obama.

The commander-in-chief also saluted the Roc Nation boss. “We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s OK,” he said.

Beyoncé performed for the First Couple during their first dance at the inaugural ball and has worked closely with First Lady Michelle Obama on the “Let’s Move” initiative to fight childhood obesity.

Executive producer of American Idol, Nigel Lythgoe says new judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj "have collided, but only collided in a good way, a creative way."

"Nicki is very deferential to Mariah," Lythgoe said. "[Nicki] says, 'You do realize you're auditioning in front of this incredible singer here, why would you want to choose her song to sing?' "

Veteran judge Randy Jackson, who is sitting alongside Carey, Minaj and country star Keith Urban for American Idol's  12th season. The four judges work well together.

"The contestants that come in are either super fans of Nicki ... or they are fans of Mariah and they've been to Camp Mariah. And then Keith Urban also has his fans. So, Randy is sort of left," a source revealed.

Lythgoe – who called the first day of auditions in New York City "the best first day I've ever had" – joked that the judges are almost too helpful to the hopeful contestants.

"It really has already become very constructive," he said of the lengthy critiques, "to the point that I'm saying, 'For Christ's sake, shut up. Let's move on.' "
 All the judges are looking forward to seeing the outcome of the show!

Kanye West pulled out of the MTV Video Music Awards at the 11th hour, to be by his girlfriends side, Kim Kardashian.
The multitalented rapper, 35, cancelled his appearance after deciding he didn't want to attend last tonight's ceremony in Los Angeles without his girlfriend Kim Kardashian by his side.
 

 The reality star, 31, had a prior engagement at Fashion's Night Out in New York, where she promoted her "True Reflection" perfume at Lord & Taylor.
A source tells us that  Kim's in New York for her fragrance launch and Kanye didn't want to go to the VMAs if she couldn't be there. It was very important for him to be there for Kim and support her.
Kayne's song Mercy featuring Pusha T, Big Sean & 2 Chainz was up for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Editing. He was not scheduled to perform.

Michelle Obama knows exactly what she wants for her 20th wedding anniversary: a trip down memory lane.
"I'd want to retrace our honeymoon," said the First Lady.
The First Couple are not only in the middle of the Democratic Convention and a grueling reelection campaign, they're also celebrating their anniversary on Oct. 3, only 34 days before Election Day.

"We started in San Francisco and spent a week driving through some of the prettiest ..., " Mrs. Obama said, wistfully remembering their honeymoon.

"Napa and Big Sur and Carmel," said the President, jumping in on the nostalgia trip. 

"We would stop, go to a nice dinner. I really loved that trip," the First Lady added.

But, oh, how times have changed for the couple. Reminded that California is not a swing state and, as such, won't likely be on the campaign calendar for October, the President brought his wife's expectations back down to Earth. Instead of a road trip, the busy couple just hope to get some quality time alone one evening.
"We will get dinner," he promised.
"That would be heaven," Mrs. Obama replied sincerely.

Matthew is working on his upcoming new film and will portray an AIDS patient in the film called The Dallas Buyer’s Club, which begins shooting in September, and the pounds he’s lost for the part have become noticeable, admits Camila.“He’s losing weight for his new movie and he still has to lose more,” she explains. “But I’m very supportive. I’m usually the one right there saying, ‘You can’t eat this, you can’t eat that,’ but he’s very disciplined. He’s really great at it.”
